Contract Opportunity

The Government has a requirement for a Corneal Topographer Device with Designated Components to be delivered to the Fort Meade VA Medical Center at Fort Meade, South Dakota. This will be issued as a Brand Name or Equal solicitation IAW FAR Clause 52.211-6. The Government intends to award as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract.

No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR PRICING AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Responses to this RFI will be treated only as information for the Government to consider as part of their market research efforts. The information provided will be used by the Government in developing its acquisition strategy regarding possible set aside for Veteran Owned and other socio-economic categories of small business. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI and parties responding will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs incurred in responding to this RFI.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334510, Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing- with a SBA Small Business Size Standard of 1,250 employees. PSC is 6540, Ophthalmic Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies.

Your response must address capabilities specific to the commodity required in the below Item Description, in addition to all other information required below.

Responses to this Sources Sought of "equal" products, including "equal" products of the brand name manufacturer, must-

(1) Meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this Request for Information;

(2) Clearly identify the item by-

(i) Brand name, if any; and

(ii) Make or model number;

(3) Include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to previously furnished descriptive data or information available to the Contracting Officer; and

(4) Clearly describe any modifications to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modifications.
